Bridging the gap between imagination and shipped software

Let's get that app out the door. I deliver 15 years of experience imagining, designing, writing, testing and shipping software, providing:

  • Coding chops to develop complex features and products.
  • Design sensibility to produce and iterate on user interfaces.
  • Engineering management know-how to scope features, make tradeoffs and meet deadlines.
  • Team collaboration abilities to interface with stakeholders across your organization, from early startup to Fortune 500.

My work across multiple projects has been featured on the front page of the iOS App Store, and I have plenty of experience acting as an external resource. I'm excited to work with you to structure an engagement that meets your goals.

Let's get specific. Here are the places I do my best work:

  • NEW: SwiftUI
  • Swift & Objective-C
  • Scary, undocumented codebases
  • Project risk assessment and costing
  • Custom UI and reusable components
  • UI prototyping
  • Documentation and training for a range of skill levels
  • Equitable, inclusive technical interviews
  • Collaborative code review
  • Rescuing stuck projects

I spent my childhood devouring every application I could find. Everything went through ResEdit.

I wanted to know not just how things worked, but why they worked that way. I've channeled this lifelong obsession with software on Apple platforms into a career solving problems at the levels of user interface, code and product strategy.

Here are some highlights:

  • NEW: Tallymander, my indie project to bring the power of spreadsheet equations to a mobile context. Built with 95% SwiftUI!
  • Digamo (beta), where I designed and developed a macOS app for conducting better 1:1 meetings.
  • FutureAdvisor, where I led the team to bring the auto-investing web experience to mobile.
  • Level Money, where I co-designed, developed and shipped an all new budgeting experience for millennials on the iPhone.
  • Hipmunk, where I led the charge to transform the beloved web travel search into a native product for iOS and Android.
